Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Watch Next ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website (watch-next-app.com) and mobile app (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or location. The only data we collect is anonymous usage data, which includes:

  • Pages or screens visited within the Service
  • Features used (e.g. search, watchlist)
  • Device type, operating system, and language settings
  • App crashes and performance metrics
  • General geographic region (country-level, derived from IP address — IP addresses are not stored)

This data is collected solely to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. It cannot be used to identify you personally.

2. How We Use Your Information

The anonymous usage data we collect is used to:

  • Analyze how users interact with the Service to improve features and performance
  • Detect and fix technical issues
  • Understand which features are most useful

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than improving the Service.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:

Firebase (Google LLC)

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google LLC, to collect the anonymous usage data described above. Firebase may process data on servers located in the United States and other countries. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Google Gemini API

When you use the AI recommendation feature, your search query (a natural language description of what you want to watch) is sent to the Google Gemini API to generate recommendations. This query is not linked to any personal identifier. Google's handling of API requests is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Gemini API Terms of Service.

Streaming Availability Data

We use third-party APIs to retrieve streaming availability information (i.e., which platforms a title is available on). These requests do not include any personal data.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Watch Next website may use standard browser cookies or local storage solely for functional purposes (e.g., remembering your selected country or streaming services). We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any cross-site tracking technologies.

The Watch Next mobile app does not use cookies.

5. Data Retention

Anonymous usage data collected via Firebase is retained in accordance with Google's standard data retention policies. Because this data is not linked to any individual, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. If you wish to opt out of analytics collection on mobile, you can do so through your device's privacy settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements; Android: Google Settings → Usage & Diagnostics).

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the Service, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the data we collect. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Because we do not collect personal data, the risk to you from a potential breach is minimal.

8. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store any personally identifiable information, most data subject rights (access, correction, deletion) do not apply in a meaningful way. If you have questions or concerns about your data, please contact us at the address below.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Links to Other Websites

The Service may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., streaming platforms). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
